PA Act 158 Graduation Requirements

In effect for the Graduating class of 2023 and beyond

What is Pennsylvania Act 158?

PA Act 158 was signed into law in 2018 and is effective for all Pennsylvania students graduating in 2023 and beyond. Act 158 requires students to meet one graduation pathway designed to demonstrate postsecondary preparedness through evidence that illustrates college, career, and community readiness.

Scoring proficient on the three required Keystone exams remains the most direct pathway for students to meet Act 158 requirements.

Garnet Valley High School will communicate with all families in the fall of their senior year to provide an update on the status of each student’s Act 158 requirement. For students who have not fulfilled their Act 158 graduation requirement by the fall of their senior year, a meeting will be scheduled with their counselor to create a plan.
